I'm taking on Snowdon for Sunrise in support of Your Local Air Ambulance
Every day of the year, Your Local Air Ambulance (Warwickshire & Northamptonshire/Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day.
The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions.
My Updates
The Adventure Has Begun...
Saturday 6th JunWell, we're officially on our way to Snowdon!
The plan was simple: pack the car, leave on time, enjoy a smooth journey to North Wales before my 1:30am start up the mountain.
Reality had other ideas.
After only a modest delay of 1 hour and 45 minutes, we finally left home with one husband, four children, one enthusiastic labradoodle, enough snacks to survive a small apocalypse, and what appears to be every charger we own.
The challenge hasn't even started yet and I already feel I've achieved something.
In all seriousness, thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. Your generosity has been incredible, and knowing that the money is going towards such an amazing charity makes the early alarm, sore legs and sleep deprivation feel completely worthwhile.
My goal was to raise £1,000 for The Air Ambulance Service, and we're getting very close. If you've been meaning to donate but haven't quite got round to it yet, this is your gentle nudge! Every pound helps support a charity that delivers lifesaving care when people need it most.
Tomorrow morning, while the rest of the family are hopefully asleep, I'll be heading up Snowdon in the dark with a group of equally sleep-deprived fundraisers. With a bit of luck, we'll be rewarded with an incredible sunrise and a sense of achievement that lasts much longer than the blisters.
Thank you again for all your support. Wish me luck—and if you'd like to help push the total over the £1,000 mark, I'd be hugely grateful!

Taking on Snowdon for Sunrise 2026
Wednesday 3rd JunOn 7th June 2026, I'll be climbing Snowdon through the night to reach the summit in time for sunrise, all in support of The Air Ambulance Service.
I chose this challenge because I wanted to give something back to an organisation that does so much for people and communities while relying entirely on charitable donations to continue its lifesaving work. Since January, I have had the privilege of working alongside The Air Ambulance Service, and it has given me a real appreciation of the skill, compassion and commitment required to bring advanced critical care to patients in some of their most difficult moments.
I am a senior resident doctor, dual training in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine. In my work, I see how important rapid access to specialist care can be when someone is seriously injured or unwell. The Air Ambulance Service delivers that care when every minute matters, and I am proud to support their work.
This challenge will definitely push me out of my comfort zone. Between work and family life, I don't get much time for hiking, and this will be my first attempt at anything like this. My husband, our four children and our labradoodle will be travelling with me to North Wales. While they are all asleep, I'll be setting off at around 1:30am to begin the climb in darkness, hopefully reaching the summit in time to watch the sun rise before making my way back down to see them waiting for me at the finish.
My goal is to raise more than £1,000 for The Air Ambulance Service. The climb will be challenging, but knowing that the money raised will help support such an incredible charity will make every step worthwhile.
If you're able to support me, I would be hugely grateful. Every donation helps ensure that The Air Ambulance Service can continue providing expert, lifesaving care to those who need it most.
Thank you for your support and encouragement—I can't wait to take on this challenge and watch the sunrise from the top of Snowdon.
