I'm taking on The Rugby Half Marathon!
Every day of the year, Your Local Air Ambulance (Warwickshire & Northamptonshire/Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day.
The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions.

My running journey
Thursday 4th Jun In March 2024 I had weight loss surgery as over time I’d gained a lot of weight that stopped me exercising or even being able to do normal daily tasks. Sine then I’ve managed to lose approx 8.5 stone and have been able to go from hardly being able to walk any sort of distance to being able to run the distance of a half marathon (hence then entry for this). It’s not been an easy journey as I do have health conditions that hinder me at time, but I push through and try not to let them stop me. My surgery was a tool to help me lose weight and get my life back to a bit or normality again not as easy as everyone expects it to be, but it’s worked for me and that’s the main thing. My message from the past couple of years is that if you feel something is stopping you, to do something about it regardless of what others say do it for you and you’ll get there. The Air Ambulance Service is a vital service that we need and really needs help to survive. My husband, myself and a lot of friends are NHS so understand the importance of the job they do.
