YLAA SKYDIVE SPRING 2026

I'm taking on a Skydive

Every day of the year, Your Local Air Ambulance (Warwickshire & Northamptonshire/Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day.

The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions.

In Loving Memory of My Dad – Why We’re Taking the Leap

Tuesday 24th Feb

This year, my mum and I are doing something that truly terrifies us — a charity skydive.

We’re doing it for my dad.

Losing him has changed our lives forever. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think about him, miss his voice, his laugh, and the way he made me feel safe. He was everything to us — a husband, a dad, a friend, and our biggest supporter.

We are taking on this skydive in his memory and in honour of the incredible people who work every single day to save lives. Every day of the year, critical care teams are responding to emergencies, giving families the very best chance of survival and recovery. They attend an average of five rescue missions a day and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — and they receive no government funding for their daily missions.

When the worst happens, these teams are there.

By doing this skydive, we want to raise money to help make sure they can continue being there for other families. If even one family can be spared the heartbreak we have experienced, then every second of fear on that plane will be worth it.

I know my dad would probably call us crazy — but he’d also be proud. He always taught me to be brave, to help others, and to turn pain into something positive.

So we’re taking the leap for him.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it will mean more than I can say. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world.

Thank you for helping me honour my dad’s memory and support a service that saves lives every single day.
