Aiming High for Nige

We're fundraising in memory of Nigel Osler for The Air Ambulance Service

I don’t like heights or confined spaces. Maybe a sponsored Skydive wasn’t my best idea!

But……Nige, this is for you...

It could never happen to you, it is something you read about in the media.

On Wednesday 12^th July 2023 it did happen.

Nige was on his way to work in the early hours of the morning, an HGV driver for many years, it was always an early start. He was riding his bike, well it was summer and a dry day; it’s fair to say he was more of a fair weather biker!

A knock at the door, Nige has been involved in an RTC and it was serious. The rest of the day was a blur for us all.

Later that day Nige lost his life……….and we lost him…….

There has been a lot that has happened to us since that day and the impact can never be overestimated. But whilst we have had much to contend with since, so have others that were involved that day.

We are all fortunate enough to take for granted the emergency services provision that we benefit from, but this comes at a financial cost which is not always met by government funding but by donations.

Without such donations the Air Ambulance could not operate and we would not have these lifesaving services at our disposal.

Nige could not be saved that day but the emergency services and the Air Ambulance gave him a chance.

Our thoughts have often been of the emergency services and medical personnel that assisted Nige that day and the impact on them. It may be their job, but I know all too well it is not as simple as that and we will be eternally grateful for all they did, for Nige and for us.
