OWN PLACE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Air Ambulance Service – Fundraising Terms & Conditions (Own Place Participants)
1. General Event Participation
- I understand that the event I am participating in is not organised by TAAS, but by an external third-party event organiser.
- I agree that it is my responsibility to read and comply with the event organiser’s terms and conditions and to provide any required information by their deadlines.
- I confirm that I am aged 18 or over, medically and physically fit, and understand that I am taking part in this event entirely at my own risk. TAAS accepts no responsibility for any injury or illness that may result from my participation or training.
- I understand that the terms and conditions of the event organiser apply and that I must liaise directly with them for anything related to event logistics or deferrals.
- If I am unable to take part in the event, I will notify both the event organiser and TAAS by email as soon as possible.
- If I defer or transfer my place to a future year or another event, I will let TAAS know so they can continue to support me in my fundraising and adjust timelines accordingly.
2. Fundraising for TAAS
- I understand that by choosing to fundraise for TAAS, I am doing so independently and not as an official representative of the charity.
- I will do my best to raise funds for TAAS and understand that any fundraising target I set is self-imposed, unless agreed otherwise with TAAS in writing.
- I understand that any funds raised offline (e.g. cash, cheques, sponsorship forms) are held on trust by me and I am legally obliged to pass these donations on to TAAS.
- I understand that Gift Aid may take 8–10 weeks to be processed and that Gift Aid cannot count toward any agreed fundraising targets.
3. General Fundraising Guidelines
- I will make it clear to supporters that the money raised will be used by TAAS to support its charitable work.
- If I do not take part in the event, and a supporter requests a refund of their donation made on the condition of my participation, I will direct them to TAAS to request a refund, in accordance with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice.
- I will not do anything to bring the name of TAAS into disrepute and will ensure that my actions reflect positively on the charity.
- I will follow any fundraising guidelines provided by TAAS and will ensure that I fundraise safely and respectfully.
- I will not collect money from the public in a persistent or aggressive manner and will respect individuals' privacy.
- I will only use TAAS’ official fundraising materials as provided to me and will seek permission before using TAAS’ “in aid of” logo. I understand that I cannot use TAAS’ official logo unless a licence has been granted.
- I will not claim that any business (including my own) is supporting TAAS without the charity’s prior written agreement.
- I will not collect donations in public places or door-to-door without the required licences from my local authority or police.
- I will not hold raffles, lotteries, or prize draws that fall outside the scope of ‘incidental lotteries’ without contacting TAAS for guidance and obtaining the necessary permissions.
- I will not sell alcohol or goods in TAAS’ name without securing relevant licences and written agreement from TAAS.
- I understand that TAAS is not responsible for any losses, damages, or liabilities that may arise from my fundraising activity.
4. Donations and Cancellations
- I agree to collect and transfer all funds raised to TAAS in a timely manner.
- If the event is cancelled or rescheduled and my supporters request a refund, I will advise them to contact TAAS directly in writing to request a return of their donation.
5. Data Protection and Legal
- TAAS will process my personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy: https://theairambulanceservice.org.uk/privacy-policy/
- TAAS may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most recent version will always be available on TAAS’ website.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
