Rugby Half Marathon for The Air Ambulance (TAAS)
As many of you may know I had the pleasure and privilege of spending a month doing an elective medical placement with The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS). I got to see first hand the amazing work they do saving lives 24/7. The team are an incredible bunch of lovely people who work super hard but very few people realise that the organisation itself is entriely dependent on charitable funds to run - they receive no funding from the government or NHS in order to work yet we could not provide advanced pre-hospital care without them. I'm going to take on the challenge of running my first ever half marathon in order to raise money so that TAAS can continue its incredible work.
Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated!
Every day of the year, Your Local Air Ambulance (Warwickshire & Northamptonshire/Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day.
The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions.
