Helen V The Three Peaks — a midlife crisis for a good cause!
In June 2027, I’m taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for The Air Ambulance Service.
⛰️🏴 Ben Nevis.
⛰️🏴 Scafell Pike.
⛰️🏴 Snowdon.
Three mountains. 24 hours. And, if I’m honest, a slightly terrifying challenge! 😂
Why am I doing it?
Well… I’m turning 50 in October 2027, and I’ve decided that rather than quietly approaching 50, I’m going to embrace it by getting fitter, trying new things and doing something that genuinely scares me a little.
So this is officially part of my Year of Helen — and possibly my midlife crisis! 😂
But there’s a serious reason behind the madness.
I’m raising money for The Air Ambulance Service, a charity that provides lifesaving care to people across the communities it serves. Their air ambulance teams can reach seriously ill or injured people quickly and provide specialist care at the scene and on the way to hospital.
It’s one of those services that none of us wants to need, but we’re incredibly grateful exists when we do.
I’m particularly proud to be supporting the charity’s Big Bases Appeal, helping secure the future of its lifesaving services right here in Warwickshire. Coventry airport officially closed earlier in 2026 effectively evicting The Air Ambulance Service.
The charity’s new South Base at Catthorpe is intended to become a permanent base supporting Your Local Air Ambulance operations for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, as well as National Children’s Air Ambulance operations.
🥾 The challenge
The Three Peaks Challenge will see me climb:
🏴Ben Nevis
🏴Scafell Pike
🏴Snowdon
All within (hopefully) 24 hours!
It’s going to take months of training, plenty of walking, some serious hill practice and probably a fair amount of complaining along the way!
I’ll be sharing my training and fundraising journey on Facebook and Instagram, so you’ll be able to follow along as I go from “I’ve signed up!” to hopefully standing on top of all three mountains.
❤️ Can you help me reach my target of £950?
Every donation, however big or small, will make a difference.
£5, £10 or £20 might not feel like much on its own, but lots of small donations soon add up.
And if you can’t donate, sharing my fundraising page would mean just as much.
So please sponsor me if you can, follow my journey, and feel free to remind me of this moment when I’m halfway up a mountain wondering what on earth I was thinking! 😂
Thank you so much for supporting me.
Helen x
